PS4
Year of Introduction and Generation
The PS4 was introduced to people at a conference on February 20th 2013, before it was launched on November 15, 2013 in North America. The PS4 was later released on November 29th 2013 in Europe but wasn’t released till February 22nd in Japan. The PS4 is a 8th generation console. The PS4 is classed as 8th gen because it has better quality graphics, it also allows more players on a battlefield than any console before it.
Processing
The speed of the PS4’s CPU is 1.6GHz and contains 8-core CPU with x86 based.
RAM
8GB of RAM with a fast 8GB GDDR5 memory.
Graphics
The graphics on the PS4 run at 1080p resolution, whilst working at 30 – 60 FPS (Frames Per Second).
Storage Media
Form new a PS4 can have up to 407GB of free memory on a 500GB hard drive.
Connectivity
On the PS4 you can connect using a wire or wirelessly to the internet so you can play online with friends. The connection to the TV uses a HDMI cable allowing HD game play. There are also sockets to plug in your own speakers and the PS4 camera. The controller can be connected at the front to charge but is usually used wirelessly.
Target Audience
The PS4’s target audiences are hard-core gamers and mainstream gamers. Most of their games are normally aimed at boys.
Other Features
Can stream your gameplay to the internet. Can use USB’s to save games so you can play your save at a friend’s house. Follows the motion of the controller. Has its own phone app so you can keep track of friends and messages.

Xbox One
Year of Introduction and Generation
The Xbox One was first introduced to the public in 21st May 2013. It was launched in North America and Europe in November 2013, it was later released in Japan in September 2014. The Xbox One is also an 8th generation console. The Xbox One also has better graphics than any of the previous Xbox consoles.
Processing
The Xbox One has got a custom 1.75GHz giving it more speed than the PS4 and it also contains 8-core CPU.
RAM
8GB of RAM with a slower bandwidth than the PS4 because they used the 8GB DDR3 variety.
Graphics
On the Xbox One the graphics achieve 720p – 900p running at 30 – 60 FPS.
Storage Media
When the Xbox One first came out you only had 362GB of free memory on a 500GB hard drive, but now you can upgrade the hard drive to 2TB.
Connectivity
On the Xbox One can be connected to the internet wirelessly or by using a wire allowing you to play online games. To connect the Xbox One to a TV you have to use a HDMI cable allowing the games to be displayed in HD. There’s also a place to connect the Xbox Connect and your own speakers. As with the PS4 you can play with either a wired controller or wireless controller.
Target Audience
The target audience for the Xbox one is everyone because they want to make a fun console that the entire family can play on.
Other Features
Has a Blu-ray Drive so you can watch Blu-ray DVD’s.
Let’s you stream your Xbox games to Windows 10 PC’s or tablets in your home.
The Xbox One is backwords compatible allowing you to play Xbox 360 games.

Wii
Year of Introduction and Generation
The Nintendo Wii was introduced on June 28th 2012 and first released by Nintendo on November 19th 2006 in North America. It was later released in December on the 2nd for Japan and the 7th for Europe. The Wii was released alongside the Xbox 360 and PS3 making it a 7th gen console.
Processing


The Wii being the oldest of the three here has a CPU working at the speed of 729MHz and only has 1 CPU core.
RAM
The Wii only has 24MB of video RAM and a 64MB GDDR3 system RAM
Graphics
The Wii can only support graphics 480p or less and works at 30 – 60 FPS.
Storage Media
The largest amount of memory you can get on a brand new Wii is 32GB of storage memory.
Connectivity
You can connect the Wii to the internet wirelessly or using a wire   like with the Xbox One and PS4, letting you use the online functions on the Wii. The Wii connects to a TV using a AV cable. You also have the sensor bar to plug in so you can use the Wii remotes.
Target Audience
The Nintendo Wii has a young target audience and makes a lot of kid friendly games. They also target people who don’t want to go out and exercise, by letting them do Zumba and yoga at home.
Other Features
Doesn’t play DVD’s unlike other consoles. Allows full body interaction in a lot of games.
